Service Adapter

Features of Service Adapter V1.0

Plug& Power - Power Made Simple

The Service Adapter (SA) is a practical solution for quick and easy field access to 230V power in electrical cabinets.

Designed for effortless installation, the SA mounts directly onto a circuit breaker, providing a convenient power source for devices like laptops, drill chargers, or mobile chargers.

SA-adapters are available for almost all major circuit breaker brands, ensuring compatibility across different regions all over the world.

Perfect for electricians, technicians, and maintenance professionals who need a reliable power outlet on-site.

Safety First – Grounding Protection

The Service Adapter (SA) is designed with technician safety as a top priority. It includes a dedicated grounding wire that must be properly installed to ensure safe operation.

This grounding wire can either be attached to a grounding terminal or securely fastened to a grounded metal base plate using a specialized magnet.

Proper grounding is essential for electrical safety, and technicians must always ensure the grounding wire is correctly connected before use. By following these precautions, the SA provides a safe and reliable power source.

Built-in Overvoltage Protection

The Service Adapter (SA) is engineered with multiple safety features to protect both the technician and connected equipment.

It includes a built-in, replaceable glass fuse (5 x 20 mm), which serves as the first line of defense against electrical faults.

Additionally, the SA is equipped with GDT and MOV components to guard against voltage surges.

If the voltage exceeds the allowable limit, the fuse will blow to prevent potential hazards, protecting not only the user but also the connected devices.

The Story behind the Service Adapter

It all started as a recurring frustration – Every time Jacob visited different production sites, he struggled to find power for his laptop. One day, after searching for the tenth time to locate a suitable 230V outlet inside an electrical cabinet, he had a breakthrough idea!

What if there were a way to connect directly to an existing circuit breaker? Such a device would be an invaluable addition to any technician’s toolbox. Determined to bring this idea to life, he began developing a solution. After several iterations, he built a working prototype that served Jacob well for a few months.

Believing that others might benefit from it too, Jacob created a short video and posted it on LinkedIn.

The response was overwhelming – many professionals immediately saw its potential and wanted to know where they could purchase one. The feedback Jacob received was incredibly valuable. Among the most critical suggestions, was the need for a protective earth connection.

The initial version was functional, but limited to Jacobs own technical skills – as a programmer by trade, he knew that refining the design required expertise in hardware construction, and safety compliance.

To take the project to the next level, Jacob reached out to Christian, a long time assosiate and a expert in engineering and 3D printing. With Christians knowledge, we enhanced the service adapter to include a protective earth connection, a fuse for overcurrent protection, and a circuit protecting againt overvoltage, ensuring both safety and reliability.

One day, we hope that the Service Adapter will be a professional-grade tool, designed to make fieldwork more efficient and hassle-free. What started as a personal challenge, has now become a solution that hopefully in the future, will be embraced by professionals worldwide.
